    Dian,

I have just started couponing and I have a question that I hope you are able to answer. My store doubles and triples only the first coupon if I have multi coupons of the same item. So here is the question: since my store will double and triple does this mean that I have to give the two or three of the same coupon in order to get the deal? or does it mean that the register automatically doubles or triples that one coupon?

    Thanks

    PS I love your site!

      Loryss,
Thanks for the kind words and welcome!
What that means is you can use 1 coupon per like item.
They will double/triple 1 coupon for say, Diet Coke, any other coupons you give them for Diet Coke in the same transaction will only go for the face value – not doubled or tripled.
The register doubles/triples you just need to present 1 coupon per item.
Now, my store’s District Manager told me to check out more than once, so I do when i need to to get the most from my coupons. I might check out 6 times if I have 6 coupons that I want to double or triple for a particular item.

      Does that make sense?
      Thanks!

Thanks! it does make sense. Do you think that there is such thing as too many coupons? Why you might be asking. Well , in the area that I live we get the Redplum insert once a week on Tuesdays and that is the day I make my run to the post office since they are so kind to put all the inserts that people don’t want aside for me. This week I collected 55 Redplum inserts just from the post office not counting the ones that I got from the local Recycle Center that alloweds me to go in and dig in the huge dumpster full of newspaper and on weekends I purchase at least 4-6 Sunday papers. Do you think I am going overboard with this coupon thing? I have to say I am proud of my stock pile. I just wish I coul learn to use the coupons better in order to get more paper towel, toilet paper and pasta free.

I love using the 3″ ring binder method. It works great for me. I currently have 2 -3″ binders that I use to store my coupons. I will try to post a couple of pictures of my stockpile. Once again Thanks you are greaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!

      Loryss,
It really depends on what you DO with your stockpile.
If you have enough to last you 5 years, or if you keep things until they expire and then throw them away. That doesn’t seem good.
If you are giving to your local shelter, church, friends & family, then that’s great.
I would love to see pics and I am happy to hear your stockpile is going well!
      Thanks!

Thanks, I will be sending you some pic’s. I work full time at a Pregnancy Crisis Center and I am the Director for the parenting classes. This progam focus in helping them make better choice, find jobs, nutrition amoung other subjest and every year I collect food items to help them have a happy Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. So as you see that is the reason I am collecting as much as can and that is the reason I collect as many coupons as I can.

I do have a question. My store runs weekly sales from Tuesday to Wednesday. It better for me to shop on the last day of the sale or wait for the newone to start.

      Loryss » That’s awesome!
I think to shop on the day it starts or lose to it so that the shelves are still fully stocked!
I can’t wait to see your pics!
      Thanks!

    Hi Dian,

Brand new to starting my way on the coupon adventure. Wish me luck. I do have a question. Some of these sites listed, if you read the policies says that my information will be farmed out to everyone basically. Other sites do tell you that your information will be kept with just that company and will not be given to 3rd parties. What is your thought on this?
    Thanks

Donna Walker » Welcome! I don’t worry about it, I have been doing this for many years and haven’t had any issues. I use a “trash” email account for the things I don’t want to appear in my regular email account, and that is something that I recommend everyone do as well. You can read more about it here: Tired Of Filling Out Forms & Giving Your Email Out?
      I hope that helps!
      Thanks!

You mentioned the store doubling or tripling the coupon value up to a certain amount. Which stores do that? Also, do they automatically do that or do you ask them to do that? Thanks!!

      Renee,
IF they do double or triple they will do it automatically. Not many do it anymore. I used to have 4 in my area that did, adn now I have 2. Just check with your local stores and they can tell you.
      I hope that helps!

Thanks, Dian! that is helpful. I’ll ask around the grocery stores. Assuming Walmart & Target don’t do it…. but maybe a smaller store like a kroger or our family/dillons brand.
