Want to start exercising at home? No home gym? No problem! These 7 Things You Need To Get Fit At Home will have you moving and feeling better in no time!

Shed That Unwanted Weight At Home

We know that we need to exercise, but, who has a home gym,? We’d rather exercise at home because it’s easier to get there 🙂 and to jump in the comfort of your own shower afterward, plus, you don’t have others looking at you judging your body or exercise style.

But, realistically for home exercise we need some exercise equipment, it doesn’t have to be big pieces of equipment or a huge home gym. With the right start and pieces you’ll know how to get fit fast while exercising at home.

It usually starts at the beginning of every year, we overindulge during holidays and vacations and just a general weekend here and there. We know we’re going to overindulge, we actually plan on it ahead of time saying we’ll starve, or workout extra when it’s over.

But, we don’t always have the time to go to the gym to exercise, or we can’t really afford a gym membership (if you’re like me you get them work out for a short time and then continue to pay on the promise, to yourself, that you’ll get back to it when there’s more time…)

After several days of eating and indulging, drinking, and going out with family members and friends, you might be surprised at the number on your scale. It’s time to start thinking about getting fit and exercising all the overindulgence out of you body.

Exercise is important, there is no denying it. But, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to do it. You can still get fit and lose that unwanted weight even in the comfort of your own home.

According to Better Health:

Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life. A minimum of 30 minutes a day can allow you to enjoy these benefits.

If you are regularly physically active, you may:

reduce your risk of a heart attack

manage your weight better

have a lower blood cholesterol level

lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and some cancers

have lower blood pressure

have stronger bones, muscles and joints and lower risk of developing osteoporosis

lower your risk of falls

recover better from periods of hospitalization or bed rest

feel better – with more energy, a better mood, feel more relaxed and sleep better.

Why Should You Try Exercising At Home?

  • There’s no travel time needed.
  • No gym membership fees to be paid.
  • It’s easier — Just get up and start moving

Here is a list of items you can use to shed that fat and get in better shape at home.

Exercise Mat

Exercise Mat

Whatever exercise you choose to do, you need to have a workout surface that is soft, yet sturdy. You can exercise on the floor or on the carpet, but, they may be too slippery or cause rug burn.

Take your workout to the next level with the help of an exercise mat. It creates a beneficial layer of cushioning between your body and the floor.

An exercise mat is perfect for Yoga or Pilates, for stretching, meditating, strengthening, or doing restorative floor exercises.

Dumbbells

Dumbbells

Weights are a great way to keep fit. However, weights can be expensive and can eat up a lot of space. And what’s a better alternative? Dumbbells!

Dumbbells can help you tone up, burn fat, improve your posture, and more. You can use them not only for resistance training to tone your muscles and build strength, but, also to burn calories, improve bone health, and increase energy levels.

Kettlebell

Kettlebells are another great tool for strength training. A lot of exercises are interchangeable for dumbbells, but, if you are doing workouts that require explosive movement, a kettlebell is a better option.

The shape of a kettlebell makes it easier to swing around, especially if you are doing Russian Twists, Squats, or Floor Press.

You can hold it by the handle or the bell, which helps you get a different range of motion, depending on the exercise you’re doing.

It can be difficult for beginners to use as it creates an unstable surface, but, with a little practice, it can be a great tool to exercise your muscles in different ways.

An exercise ball can be a challenging way to add fun and variety to your workout. It helps you in practicing simple core and leg exercises.

It can also be used when doing yoga movements to strengthen and stretch your body and improve your core stability and balance.

I hate belly fat too, it’s what caused me to have type 2 diabetes :/ I lost the belly fat – well, most of it and no longer have it.
I think women have the hardest time with belly fat – men can lose easier, too :/
