How NOT To Cook Chicken!

Last night, I decided to try and make something different for dinner.  I had skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cream of mushroom soup and I was thinking of what I could do with it all.

Well, I remembered my friend Ann, of Coupons Deals and More, saying one time that she used a bottle of wine that tasted like “feet” in the Crock Pot on a pot roast and it was great!

imageSo, I thought well, I have a bottle of wine I don’t like and a Crock Pot…

Two hours before dinnertime, I put the mushroom soup in the Crock Pot, with the bottle of wine (yes, the whole bottle), cream cheese, and the chicken.  I was thinking Burgundy Chicken – in my head – which later I realized is always called Burgundy Beef – hmmm.. wrong protein.

As time went on, I realized the Crock Pot wasn’t going to cook this fast enough, to be ready in time for dinner.  So, I transferred it all to a pot on the stove, then I tasted it to see if I needed to add seasoning and what kind.

Well, hmmm…. that’s not… ummm… good, I mean at all, really, really awful tasting!!

imageAbout that time my unsuspecting hubby comes through the kitchen, so, I ask him to take a taste and tell me what kind of seasoning he thinks it might need.

He tasted it, he didn’t couldn’t speak for a minute!  Then as I am doubled over in laughter, he proceeds to tell me that no amount of seasoning in the WORLD is gonna help that!

Luckily my Mom happens to be visiting, so, I ran upstairs to get her help. She tastes it and tells me to pull the chicken out out of the mixture and wash it off!  lol  She is partially kidding.

So, here’s where everything changes.  We pull it out of the concoction I had made and drained it, put it in a pot with cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar cheese and sautéed onions.  Hubby made some steamed veggies and it ended up being very tasty!

So, next time I do it, I will use cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sautéed onions and maybe even throw steamed veggies in and make it a chicken and veggie soup!

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever cooked?

My ex-boyfriend decided to make dinner one night, and thought Raspberry Soda would be a nice ingredent to add. Needless to say, it WAS NOT a bonus to the dish. One of the worst dishes ever!
