Recycled book crafts are all the rage! Did you know you can transform your old books into stylish home decor?

I mean I think we’ve all seen book wreath DIY projects – but you can make ACTUAL furniture from old books! Crazy!

I have so many books and I don’t have anywhere to put them all. I have bought bookcases over the years, but my husband never wants to let go of a book. He’s an avid reader, you’ll find no less than 5 books on his nightstand at any given time.

He reads them at the same time. When I read, I read 1 book at a time – I never thought of reading more than one at a time before I met him! lol

But, back to the issue at hand, when can I do with all these books? I can take them to Half-Price Books and sell them, but that is always depressing. I can take in 30 books and it seems like they offer me $0.15 for them in total… :/

So, I wondered if there are any crafts or upcycled book projects you can do with old books. And it turns out there’s plenty! So, I thought we could look at a few today!

Remember that fantasy series you read years ago? Turns out, its pages still hold magic!

Some of the book page crafts ideas I came across were: transforming pages into whimsical book page flags, decoupage art: mugs, trays, or even furniture with scenes of faraway lands and epic battles.

But wait, there’s more! Those vintage cookbooks hiding in the back? Snip, glue, and voila! You’ve got a charming recipe card holder, its once-faded pages now sit beautifully on your kitchen counter. Feeling fancy? Craft elegant placemats or coasters with those old, loved books.

Don’t forget about the kids, the possibilities are endless! Build a miniature book-spine city with towering skyscrapers and cozy cottages. Or, paper dolls, dressing them in pages from forgotten fairy tales. The sky (or their imagination) is the limit!

Here are easy DIY furniture upcycling tips you can do at home.

But hey, let’s face it, sometimes you just want a good cozy nook. And guess what? Those sturdy hardcovers are perfect!

Stack them up, glue them together, and boom! You’ve got yourself a rustic yet sophisticated side table or shelf. Paint them, distress them, let your creativity soar. Your living room will thank you (and your wallet will too!).
