Receipt Hog at a Glance

Receipt Hog is a free mobile app that lets you convert your shopping receipts into coins. These can then be converted into cash rewards or store vouchers. You can use this app both in the United States or the United Kingdom.

Using the app is simple and straightforward. First, you download and install the app to your phone from the App Store or the Play Store.

After that, all you need to do is to sign up with your email address or your Facebook account and you’re good to go! There’s no need for a tedious multi-step verification process so you can start earning coins immediately.

How to Upload Receipts

1. Click the Camera icon on the home page.
2. Place your receipt on a flat surface and click on the circular camera icon to snap your photo.
3. Double check your receipt for blurriness to make sure all the text is clear.
4. Click Submit and you’re good to go!

Earning Coins from Receipts

You can earn coin rewards based on the total amount indicated on your receipts. You can upload receipts from different retailer types including: 

• Grocery / Supermarkets
• Supercenters
• Clubs (Cash and Carry)
• Health
• Bargain 
• Drug & Pharmacy
• Liquor 
• Convenience & Corner Stores
• Beauty Supply
• Pet Supply
• Toy Stores

For US users, coin-receipts are worth the following:

• Less than $10 = 5 coins
• $10 to $50 = 10 coins
• $50 to $100 = 15 coins
• $100+ = 20 coins

To qualify for rewards your receipt photo submissions must contain the store name, the items purchased with prices, the total purchase amount and the purchase date.

Keep in mind that you can only upload receipts that you or members of your household have received. This includes family members, dependents, partners, and anyone else you typically shop for. Any other people you live with or roommates are not included.

Also, each receipt must be uploaded to the app no more than 14 days after the transaction date as it appears on the receipt. You can upload up to three receipts from the same store with the same transaction date. This is regardless of the day they are uploaded and the location of the business.

Receipt Hog does not accept ticket stubs, service invoices, credit card slips, hand-written receipts, refund/return of purchase slips, non-standard receipts not printed from a cash register, and receipts from non-retailer businesses (i.e. service, entertainment, government, utilities).

Redeeming Coins

With Receipt Hog, more is definitely more. The more receipts you scan and submit, the more coins you’ll earn and be able to convert to cash or store vouchers.

Once you’ve reached enough coins, you’ll be eligible for either a PayPal cash redemption or an Amazon gift card. You can view your coin balance and redemption options under the Rewards page.

It may take up to seven days for your redemption request to be reviewed and approved co be on the lookout for email notifications from receipthog@receipthog.com. 

Other Ways to Earn Rewards
