You can’t really say that it’s back because you can buy these sweet treats all year long, but for some reason, at this time of year, this chewy candy becomes more popular! With its rich taste and soft texture, this seasonal candy is a fun way to kick off the holidays.
They even make candy corn pumpkins with a pumpkin pie flavor, but I prefer the classic candy corns.

Candy corn has been around over 100 years, if you can believe that. Legend has it that an employee of the Wunderlee Candy Company named George Renninger invented the Pumpkin Candy Corn back in the 1880s.
What we now know as the Jelly Belly Company was called the Goelitz Candy Company and they started making this sweet treat around the turn of the century through today.
Candy corn showed up in the US and immediately its triangular and three color design was considered revolutionary. With the scarceness of automated machines to make the candy it was only made seasonally, from late summer through fall.
