Dallas Arboretum’s Cool Thursdays Concert Series Presents a Tribute to the Iconic Beatles With A Hard Night’s Day on September 10
On September, 10, the Dallas Arboretum’s notable “Cool Thursdays” concert series, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, presents A Hard Night’s Day. This Beatles tribute band is a guest favorite. As Dallas’ only concert series overlooking the picturesque White Rock Lake on the award-winning Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn, the weather is now perfect to enjoy this outdoor performance with a beautiful sunset. Tickets are still available for purchase online.
A Hard Night’s Day is a tribute band covering the Beatles, who are often said to have created some of the most memorable music of the century. The internationally renowned A Hard Night’s Day has played at the Cavern Club, the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, and recorded in Abbey Road Studios in Studio 2. This achievement makes them a bona fide “tribute” band with clout. With a catalog of more than 200 songs, they are one of the strongest tribute bands, so much so that Allan Williams, self-proclaimed original manager of the Beatles, introduced A Hard Night’s Day in Liverpool’s Town Hall once during Beatles Week and gave them a “9 out of 10” rating.
Missy Whisler, Dallas Arboretum’s vice president of sales, said, “As the fall weather cools down, we hope guests will ‘Come Together’ to hear A Hard Night’s Day perform the Beatles songs that we all know and love. We encourage guests to participate in the weekly costume contest to win prizes. For A Hard Night’s Day, the theme is, ‘All You Need is Love.’ Show your Beatles love by bringing your own fan sign.”
In addition to the coolest view of White Rock Lake, attendees can bring picnics and beverages or purchase food items from food trucks including The Butcher’s Son, Cajun Tailgators and Big D Kona Ice. The gardens are also open to stroll through before the concert to enjoy the breathtaking displays as summer turns into fall. BeginningSeptember 19, Autumn at the Arboretum will kick off including the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, named one of “America’s Best Pumpkin Festivals,” according to Fodor’s Travel.
The concert series continues through October. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the fall concerts begin at 7 p.m. Single tickets start at $10 – $27 and are available for purchase online. For group tickets of 15 or more, call 214.515.6520. On-site parking is complimentary for all concerts, and the Arboretum encourages attendees to take advantage of the close covered parking available at the new parking garage located across Garland Road from the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden.
