Planning your special time away after a wedding isn’t always easy. I get questions all the time about how to save money on honeymoon.

These days or in the past decade we can see that epic honeymoons have become pretty expensive.

Honeymoon Planning

The idea of planning your dream honeymoon as couples today within a budget may sound intimidating or scary.

Still, with the use of technology and savvy friends, you can easily save money on your unforgettable honeymoon planning process.

Planning a honeymoon vacation is your first adventure in vacation planning with your new partner in married life.

Today let’s look at some of the top tips to save money on the honeymoon of your dreams so that there’s more money to come home to after the celebrating and honeymoon travel is over.

Plan Off-Season

You can save money on your honeymoon without sacrificing quality.

Perhaps your wedding date was already during the off-season, so your perfect honeymoon will be naturally enjoyed during off-season travel times.

Peak Wedding Months:

  • March to May
  • September to November

These are the months that mean your destination wedding and wedding spot, as well as likely the following honeymoon itinerary and flight prices will be more expensive than in the off-season months. So make sure you look for affordable honeymoon destinations and maybe combine them.

The good news is If your wedding day is during peak travel season, consider planning your honeymoon and air travel for a later date during the off season, this is a great option to save on travel experiences and honeymoon hotel costs at your honeymoon destination.

Low cost honeymoon destinations can ensure you having the trip of a lifetime and coming home with money in your pocket.

Now all you have to focus on is the right location and the locations with the best weather, and when the rainy season is because the last thing you want is for it to rain the entire time.

Non-Peak Wedding Months:

  • December to February
  • June to August

Create a Honeymoon Registry

Explore budget-friendly honeymoon ideas for a memorable and affordable trip.

You may have planned to set up a wedding registry for guest contributions for home goods, material goods, wedding gifts such as wonderful items like a china set or bed linen for your wedding day. But it’s also a good idea to create a honeymoon registry instead (or too…).

A free honeymoon registry and registry websites are the best way and help tremendously with your honeymoon budget so that you can still head to your dream destination and have a great tip while getting the best price that will make your bank account happy.

An online registry, traditional wedding registry, honeymoon fund registry, or even a cash registry for cash gifts is a great way and great tool for anyone on your guest list on your big day to help fund some parts of your honeymoon.

With funds placed in your honeymoon’s new registries, wedding guests could help towards your hotel rooms, flight, or even fun during your honeymoon.

Use Your Rewards

Hopefully, you and your partner have some reward miles or other travel rewards program or gift certificate that utilizes points towards saving on costs associated with your honeymoon.

If you don’t have your own rewards program for this, the perfect way to get them is to ask family members and gift givers to see if any of them will allow you to use their reward points towards your honeymoon costs and resort fees. That could be such a nice gift.

Go For All-Inclusive Budget-friendly Honeymoon Ideas

When planning, it’s an important thing to check out all-inclusive honeymoon packages with resorts and destinations that include honeymoon experiences such as food, accommodations, hotel stay, and even some entertainment within the same pricing package.

Look for those honeymoon deals and discounts to make sure you don’t start off your marriage with empty pockets and bank accounts.

You can do this by doing a little online research or contacting travel companies.
