How To Shop Back To School And Save At Walmart

in Instagram, Most Recent on 08/05/19

The start of the school year is just around the corner and with that comes the need to stock up on supplies like backpacks, lunchboxes, crayons, pencils, notebooks, and more! However, building your child’s stash of school supplies can get pricey

Today, we’ll be going through some of the ways you can save on school supplies when you shop at Walmart. Let’s get started!

Why Walmart is Your Best Bet for Back-to-School Shopping

Walmart puts its best foot forward when it comes to competitive prices and stock inventory which is why many shoppers flock to their superstores daily and not just for back-to-school season. Here, you can purchase practically all the basics your kids would need for the school year without worrying about boring a hole in your pocket.

What’s more, they’ve made innovations to shopping that makes it more convenient for customers. You can shop online for absolutely anything you can think of including pens, calculators, backpacks, manila envelopes, and more. Furthermore, you can shop depending on your child’s grade level so finding age-appropriate gear is easier. They even have a great return policy so you don’t have to worry if you change your mind about a product you’ve purchased.

Back-to-School Walmart Shopping Tips

Mark Your Calendar for Walmart’s Back-to-School Sale

If you’re serious about saving some big bucks on school supplies then it pays to be informed. Typically, school supplies start rolling out on the shelves as early as June. But hold your horses because prices tend to drop even more by July.

Walmart also schedules other sale offerings so keep your eyes and your wallets peeled for that. This schedule may vary by location so you might want to check your local Walmart for their schedule.

Combine Coupons with Walmart’s Sale Prices

If you have a couple or more school children at home, the you’re going to need multiples of every school supply. This is where coupons come into play.

Walmart accepts manufacturer coupons so start saving those for common brands like Crayola and Bic. Generally, you can use one coupon per item. It’s really the store manager’s decision how many identical items and coupons you can use per transaction. However, generally, you can buy several identical items with coupons in each transaction at most Walmart stores.

Take Advantage of Walmart’s Below $1 Deals

Did you know you can purchase certain school supplies at insanely low prices at Walmart even without coupons? During the back-to-school season, Walmart offers “special buys”. You can purchase crayons, glue, pencils, sharpeners, sticky tape, plastic folders, pencil boxes, erasers, highlighters, Post-It notes, scissors, rulers, and more for $1 or less. That’s practically everything on your kids’ shopping list that you can get for cheap!

Turn Walmart Into Your One-Stop-School Supplies-Shop

There’s no reason to drive to many different stores if you live near a Walmart. Their selection of products is so expansive and their prices are so competitive that you can use it as a one-stop-shop to tick off every item on your child’s school supply list.

Shop Online and Get Free Shipping

If getting out of the house is impossible for you, you can always depend on Walmart’s online store to get everything you need. You don’t have to get dressed and drive to the store and to wait in line at the checkout counter.

You can complete your shopping list without leaving the comfort of your own home. All you need is to add everything to your cart and hit checkout. While you can’t use manufacturer coupons on online purchases, you can still save since orders over $35 are shipped for free.

Find Electronics for Your College Kids

Even if your baby is heading off to college, Walmart still has some nifty products that they can take to their college dorm rooms and to their classes of course. You can buy printers and laptops at Walmart for cheap especially during the back-to-school season sale.

Watch Out for the End-of-Season Clearance Sales

If you’re likely to put off shopping until the last minute, don’t worry because Walmart still has your back. One to two weeks after school starts, Walmart usually puts on a season clearance sale where you can still score awesome deals on school supplies and even clothing.

Use Cashback Apps

Saving even more while you shop has been made possible these past few years by cashback apps. All you need to do is to take a photo of your receipt and upload it to the app in order to earn cashback which you can then use in the future.
