I told you the other day about Our New “Molly”. Well, she had the surgery and everything went great!
In fact, or vet decided she didn’t need the entropian surgery and just fixed the cherry eye!
I was worried about her having the entropian surgery anyway, because she is such a fearful dog and the cone she would have had to wear would have terrified her!
When we first brought her home she was afraid of everything – the back door, the front door, the hall – everything. She has come such a long way in a short time! She is great with kids and plays with other neighborhood dogs well! She adores our son – which is good since she was his birthday present! 🙂 When he goes upstairs she will stand at the foot of the stairs and bark – because of course she is afraid of the stairs 🙂 !
I want to thank you all for your emails and kind words of encouragement and the stories about your own pets that you shared with me, and the advice you gave us!

Diane, God bless your new member of the family! I have a kitty who is afraid of everything too and am learning how a lot of this has to do with smells that you and I may not even percieve! Remember to project confidence!

@Debbie: Thanks! Never thought of that! They do have a much better sense of smell than we do! Tables and chairs scare her, I think the noise makes them appear big and bad! Good luck with your new kitty! Molly was a stray so no one knows where she came from – maybe some of it has to do with her past…
Thanks for the heads up and encouragement!!

Hey Dian with no “e” sorry I misspelled your name. My kitty was also a stray and a very neglected one who is “allergic” to fleas and was infested and in heat and wow what a hot mess she was. She isnt new, I have had her now about 4 years and it has been a slow but steady process with her fear. Sometimes something may have happened to them on the street and traumatizes them. She is really sweet now and adores us, but is a little timid about noises and new people. We think she was abused because her biggest issue is hands. God Bless america when we have to take her to the vet or had to apply something to her skin to help her. You would never think one teeny kitty could be so loud and tear up so much! But like i said, she is doing great and sleeps on my pillow some nights and just lays there looking at me purring. She makes me feel so loved and she appreciates me:) Your new baby will come around in time, perhaps she is afraid of the chairs and wooden things if she was beaten with a stick or board. I hate to even speak that, but it was the first thing I thought of when I read your reply. Just give her extra love and use your mind to talk with her , heart to heart , and tell her you are sorry for what she lived thru. She needs acknowledgement and then she can move on. I think rescued animals are the best! They need us like we need them! Good luck with this, knowing you from your blog, I know you have the perfect heart to restore her faith in being man’s best friend.
