Funny story time! As some of you may know, Dian and I worked with the youth at our church for many years. It was one of the best experiences of our life and loved the time we got to spend with them. As a general rule, teenagers are pretty insecure about themselves which is only natural when you consider how many changes their bodies are going through in a short amount of time. One time we had a guest speaker who ended his time by calling up people in the congregation and praying for them. This guy had a big booming voice and was almost yelling while he prayed but it wasn’t abrasive or anything. Well, in the course of this he pulls one of our teenagers up to the front and begins to pray over them. At first it was just general stuff but as he continued, he got louder and louder as he prayed for different things in this teen’s life. Nothing out of the ordinary yet but for some strange reason, this guy started praying for this poor kid’s acne! If you can imagine being an insecure teenager and having some guy ask Jesus to heal your horrible acne in front of all your friends and peers, you might get a feel for what this poor kid went through. He (mercifully) said amen and let the poor kid go sit down but I felt so sorry for that poor guy.
