Explaining Rakuten

In a nutshell, Rakuten is one of many money-saving apps.  It’s pretty much like other options available out there right now, like Ibotta and Swagbucks.  But for many, Rakuten is the preferred option.

It is a very simple way of getting a cash rebate on the purchases you make online.  Rakuten is totally legit and has been around since 1998.

The best thing about Rakuten is that it is 100% free to use.  You simply need to take your pick of the stores on Rakuten’s website, shop from that chosen store, and that’s it.  Rakuten will return a small percentage of your purchase to you.

And if you’re not using Rakuten when you shop, you’re missing out on any earning potential you can get from your purchases.

Joining Rakuten

It is so easy to join Rakuten.  All you need to do is sign up for a new account on their website.  Once you’ve signed up, you can start searching for cashback options right away.  You can also use Rakuten when you’re looking for hotel accommodations or when you’re shopping on Amazon, Walmart, Target, eBay, and more, it’s very versatile and has tons of options.  The good news about using Rakuten is that you can get up to 7% cash back on your purchases.

If you’re someone who does a lot of shopping on Amazon, Rakuten is really a big advantage for you.  You will receive your cash back within 24 hours, some also receive it between 2-3 days.  But if you use Rakuten for your trip, you will have to wait until the trip is over to receive your cash back.

This is perfect for anyone who does a lot of online shopping.  Whenever you visit a new website, you can check to see if there is an option to shop through Rakuten so you can get a cash back percentage.  And if you’re lucky, you might be able to get double cash back.

There are a lot of ways to earn through Rakuten.

Earning Through Rakuten

The Website

As I mentioned earlier, you can earn with Rakuten when you shop via their platform.  You can open their website and look for a store that you plan to shop.  Rakuten has more than 2,000 retail partner so you can choose from any of them and find out what’s on sale.

The App

Another option is by downloading the Rakuten app on your phone.  This is a good idea as they regularly send out notifications about their ongoing sales.  You can use this to help you know whenever there’s a sale so you don’t end up missing it.

Via Your Browser

You can also install the Rakuten Cashback Button on your browser.  What this browser extension does is it automatically looks for the best promos and adds them to your shopping cart.  You no longer have to manually look for codes.

Via Referrals

Lastly, you can also earn from Rakuten when you refer your friends and family.  This will help your family and friends be able to save money on their purchase so it’s a win-win.  Just click the Refer and Earn menu item on their website.

Once you start using Rakuten you’ll wonder how much you lost in the past before you started using them. Be sure to share your link once you sign up with all your friends and family – right now you can get $30 and they get $30 when you refer a friend.
