Over the years, technology has evolved in a way to improve the lives of most people.  Amazon is one of the companies that has continuously found ways to make our lives much easier in many ways.

One way they’ve done this is by introducing tons of new features and services for people to use and enjoy wherever they go.

Amazon Household has a lot of great benefits. If you're not taking advantage of them you need to click through NOW to see what they all are and how you can use them...

What Is Amazon Household

What is Amazon Household? One of these services is called Amazon Household.  With this service, users can opt to share their Amazon benefits with family members.

This way, they don’t have to pay for another membership to share their Amazon Prime benefits with their family.

Let’s take a closer look at Amazon Household FAQ and how you can get the most out of it.

Amazon Household allows you to share your access with your family members.

What Is Amazon Household?

In 2005, Amazon launched Amazon Prime.  This paid subscription program gives subscribers access to premium services not available to Amazon customers who don’t join Prime.

Amazon Prime perks include video streaming, same, one or two-day delivery, and much more.  The service costs $119 per year, and if you shop Amazon frequently you know the shipping costs add up quickly, so it’s a good buy.

Instead of paying another $119 a year for other members of your family to use Amazon Prime, subscribers can share their account through Amazon Household.  With Amazon Household, the Prime membership can be shared by another adult and up to four children.

An Amazon Household may have the following members:

  • Up to two adults (over 18 years old), each with his own Amazon account
  • Up to four teens (13-17 years old). Teens may have personal Amazon login to stream content or shop but still need to inform their parents
  • Up to four children (below 13 years old), unable to shop on Amazon

What Are The Benefits Of Amazon Household?

One of the good things about Amazon Household is all of the benefits you can share a with your family members.  Some of these benefits include delivery perks, Prime Video, Prime Wardrobe, Prime Reading, and Prime Early Access.  You also get access to even more benefits exclusive to Amazon Family.

Amazon Prime is also a plus when they are having special sales around the holidays and other times.  Having an account can be particularly helpful during sales like Prime Days, which usually takes place in October.

With an account, you can enjoy exclusive access to Prime Day deals.  This also gives you a 30-minute early head start on Lightning Deals.

How Does Amazon Household Work?

In a nutshell, Amazon Prime gives one account holder access to its features.  But with Amazon Household, you can share the same payment method with another adult living in your household.

If you’re a Prime Student, Prime Video only user, or even an invited Prime member guest, you won’t be able to share the benefits of your account.

What Is Amazon Prime Sharing And How Do You Do It?

Before you can start sharing with members of your household, you need to have an Amazon Prime Account and be the Amazon account holder.

Once you have these things set up, you can start sharing:

  • Sign into your Amazon account.
  • On the lower right of the search bar, click on “Accounts & List”.  Click on “Prime” so you can be redirected to a page with your Prime Membership benefits.
  • Click on the arrow and scroll down to ‘Your Prime Membership’ and click it.

  • Once you’re there, Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see ‘Share your Prime Benefits’:

  • Click on the ‘Manage Your Household’ button and add an adult, teen, and/or child.

The next step requires authorizing any adult you sent an invite to.  This is important because you’re allowing that individual to use the payment card you have linked to your account.  You will both have the same payment options.  Your payment settings, however, will not be changed or affected.

As for the person you invited to Amazon Household, he/she will receive an email with their invite.

The invite needs to be accepted within 14 days.  During this timeframe, he/she can cancel their own existing Prime membership, too.

What Prime Benefits Can Be Shared On Amazon Household?

The second adult you shared your Amazon Prime account with will have access to a number of benefits.  However, there are certain benefits that can’t be shared.

Some of the benefits that can be shared include the following:

  • Delivery benefits (including Prime Now)
  • Prime Video streaming (no download option)
  • Access to books, magazines, and Prime Reading content
  • Early access to Lightning Deals
  • Amazon Family benefits

There is also an option to share digital content like eBooks, games, apps, and others through the Family Library with up to four child profiles.  Adults need to share payment methods to be able to share Family Library.

As an invited Amazon Household user, you won’t be able to share these benefits:

  • Kindle First
  • Twitch Prime
  • Amazon Prime Music
  • Amazon Video Channels

You also can’t invite more people to Prime.

All in all, Amazon Household is a great program if you’re already using Amazon Prime.  You can make the most out of its benefits, especially if your household uses it, as well.
