Save Time and Money by Getting Your Oil Changed at Walmart

Upon receiving my first set of car keys as a young man, my father gave 3 important rules to live by.

  1. Never start a fight, but always finish them.
  2. If you find a woman worth keeping, do whatever is necessary to keep her.
  3. And change your oil every 3 months or 3000 miles.

To be honest, those rules have served me well over the years.  I’ve thrown (and received) my fair share of punches, I have been married to the same woman for over 20 years, and I change my oil very frequently.  In fact, I can honestly say that with the exception of a clunker of a used car I bought when I was young and stupid, I have never had any major engine trouble with any of my cars.

So all of that to say this…change your oil.  However, we all know that changing your oil can be a bit of a chore.  I have done it myself but it seems like it kills an entire Saturday afternoon and gets me filthy.  I have taken it to garages and had them do it but I just end up staring at their dirty wood paneling for an hour while they get it done.  Both those ways are monumental wastes of time.

But what if there was a way to change your oil while doing the other things you need to do?  This is where the Walmart Automotive Center comes in to save you time and money.

Filipe checks to see what kind of oil I need

At Walmart, all you have to do is drive around to the Automotive Center (Usually in the back of the store) and drop off your car with their Licensed Technicians.  They give your car a quality oil change with Pennzoil.  Pennzoil motor oil helps clean out sludge lesser oils leave behind.   It is designed for complete protection and will allow you to drive an extra 550 miles per year vs. a dirty engine and no other motor oil provides better protection from friction.

Once you drop your car off, you can go in to Walmart and do the other things you need to do.   I got my oil changed last Saturday and while they were doing that, I was doing my grocery shopping for the week.  I also had my Mother in Law with me and she was able to go to the salon in the front of the store and get her hair and nails done.  Believe me, I would have paid double to not have to sit in some other Salon somewhere waiting for her to get done with that.

Pennzoil Oil Changes are on Rollback for the Summer

Here’s where this deal get even better.  Not only will it save you time but from now until September 9th, 2015, it will save you money as well.  Pennzoil oil changes will be on Rollback at Walmart Automotive Care Center stores.

The High Mileage oil change will be $35.88, compared to the regular Walmart price of $39.88 and the Platinum Full Synthetic will be $45.88, compared to the regular Walmart price of $49.88.

My Jeep has over 75,000 miles so I opted for the High Mileage Pennzoil oil change because it helps to reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or higher mileage engines. It’s a motor oil that is specifically designed for new or late model vehicles with over 75,000 miles, to help keep the engines running clean and going strong for a long time.

Pennzoil also offers a free warranty that covers 15 engine parts that may fail due to engine wear or which experience abnormal wear due to friction. (For more information, check out the Pennzoil Warranty Site.)

So I’m curious, how many of you make a point to change your oil every 3,000 miles?  Is that a super important, can’t miss thing or do just kind of do it when you get to it.  Let me know in the comments!
