EarPro sent me their Swimmer Ear Spray to check out and tell you about it.
You know that awful feeling when you get out of the pool and there’s water stuck in your ear? You tilt your head. You shake it around. You hop up and down like that’s somehow going to convince the water to leave.
EarPro Swimmer Ear Spray: A Simple Alternative to Swimming Earplugs
Sometimes it works…. and sometimes you spend the rest of the day feeling like you’ve got an entire swimming pool sloshing around in there.
That’s exactly what EarPro is made to help prevent.

It’s Not Another Pair of Earplugs
EarPro is a spray you use before you get into the water. You spray it in each ear, and it creates a light, water-repellent coating inside the outer ear canal.
The idea is that water has a harder time sticking around in your ears, so it can flow back out instead of getting trapped.
And honestly, I like the idea of using a spray instead of dealing with swimming earplugs.
Earplugs can be uncomfortable, especially for kids. They fall out, they get lost, and sometimes they don’t fit quite right in the first place.
EarPro doesn’t plug your ears or muffle everything around you. You use it before swimming, and then you’re done.
How Do You Use EarPro?
It’s pretty simple.
Shake the bottle, spray one or two times in each ear, and gently rub the little flap at the front of the ear opening to help spread it around. Then wipe away any extra with a tissue.
You’re supposed to apply it before swimming and reapply it after about two hours in the water.
There’s no need to rinse it out afterward. The coating naturally works its way out of the ear over time.
That makes it easy to keep in a pool bag, beach bag, or suitcase without adding one more complicated thing to your day.

It’s Made for Kids and Adults
EarPro can be used by both kids and adults, so you don’t need a different product for everyone in the family.
It could be especially helpful for anyone who:
- Regularly gets water trapped in their ears
- Doesn’t like wearing swimming earplugs
- Takes swim lessons
- Spends a lot of time at the pool
- Goes diving, surfing, or snorkeling
- Wants something easy to pack for vacation
The formula is alcohol-free and contains mineral oil and oregano oil.
A lot of the ear products people are familiar with are drops you use after swimming to help dry the ear out. EarPro is different because you use it before you ever get in the water.
It’s more about stopping the problem before it starts.
One Small Bottle Lasts Quite a While
The bottle is only 20 milliliters, so it’s small enough to toss into a bag without taking up much room.
It contains around 200 sprays, which can work out to quite a few trips to the pool, depending on how many sprays you use each time and how many people are using it.
That’s nice because nobody wants to carry a giant bottle of anything to the pool. You’re already hauling towels, sunscreen, drinks, snacks, goggles, and everything else everyone suddenly needs the second you leave the house.
This little bottle isn’t going to add much to the pile.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
EarPro is meant to help keep water from getting trapped in the ears. It isn’t a treatment for an ear infection or ongoing ear pain.
Anyone who has ear tubes, a damaged eardrum, ear drainage, recent ear surgery, or another ear condition should check with their doctor before putting any kind of product in their ears.

Is EarPro Worth Trying?
I think this is a pretty clever idea, especially for people who hate wearing earplugs or seem to end up with water stuck in their ears every time they swim.
It’s quick to use, it doesn’t block your hearing, and there aren’t any little plugs to keep track of.
It could be a really handy thing to keep with your summer swimming supplies, take along to swim lessons, or pack for your next beach or water park trip.
Because swimming is supposed to be fun. Nobody wants to spend the rest of the afternoon walking around with their head tilted sideways trying to shake water out of an ear.
