There are a ton of products out there to help Mom through Motherhood. From books, to creams, and swaddlers to breast pumps. But, what about Dad? He has a big role, too. If we want them to be more involved we have to give them tools.
Today we’ll talk about the things Dad’s need and can use to help them through Fatherhood.
8 Things To Help Dad Get Through Fatherhood
These 8 things will definitely come in handy and be a good start.
These would also be great gifts for a Dad shower or any first time Father.
Diaper Bag
You think you don’t need this but you absolutely do! You need your own bag with your own baby essentials. You don’t want to carry some frothy frou-frou thing around that has all sorts of women’s products along with baby products. Diaper Dude has a whole line of diaper bags for men like the messenger bag below! Manly and functional!
Muscles
You will carrying and moving everything from a teeny tiny baby (or 2 or 3 or more!) to baby carriers with babies and gear in them, to portable cribs, to furniture and more.
Get in shape or you will be worn to a nub! Get a basic set of weights – like the CAP Barbell 40-pound Adjustable Dumbbell Set with Case and build yourself some stamina!
Tools
It may not seem obvious when you’re holding that new baby but you need a decent set of tools.
Also, from now on, you will be putting together everything under the sun. (Please do not wait until the night before to put together that toy that looks like it will just slip together – it won’t!) Stanley has a set of basic tools that will be a great start to the tools you will amass over the years.
Sleep
With a new baby around it is nearly impossible to get any decent sleep, so give yourself a leg up. Get some Mack’s Earplugs (my personal favorite).
And get a good pillow, like this Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow which helps to cut down on snoring!
And get permission to sleep from your significant other or else you may never sleep again!
Lullabies
Even if you don’t know the words or you can’t sing a lick, make sure you can hum a few bars of some familiar tunes.
Music is very soothing to the baby. And will be to you! Try the Lullaby Renditions of Classic Children’s Songs!
Advice
You don’t know what you’re doing (and neither does she!) and some things really are just instinctive.

Duct Tape
When all else fails, you will turn to duct tape, so stock up with this 3M Utility Duct Tape!
This isn’t everything you need, but it will be a good start!
