Why are burgers so popular?
When you think about it, it’s just ground beef on bread, what makes it so enticing that almost everyone loves a good burger?
We read all the time that they aren’t really the best choice for our health, but we still eat them and love them. In fact, we love burgers so much that even high end restaurants and gourmet places are selling their own take on the world’s most favorite sandwich.
Why Are Burgers So Popular?
High end burgers can go anywhere from $29 to $5k:
“Here it is folks, the most expensive burger on Earth. It’s served at chef Hubert Keller’s restaurant Fleur inside the Mandalay Bay Casino, and it’s truly absurd. To make the burger, a wagyu beef patty is topped with foie gras and truffle. If that doesn’t sound like it’s worth $5,000, well, it isn’t, until you get your bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus, one of the world’s most prized wines, to wash it down with.”

You Can Add Almost Anything To Your Burger
The sky’s the limit with additions to burgers. You’re only limited by your own imagination, these days. So many places even offer a “build your own burger” on the menu you really can be creative.
Burgers offer unlimited possibilities when it comes to adding what you want. You can add cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and mustard or throw in some fries, bacon, egg, jalapeños, and even kimchi.
Burgers aren’t just ground beef patties anymore either. You can get chopped brisket, taco meat, meatless burger, turkey, salmon, bison, pork, wagyu, steak – you name it you can get it as a burger.
They’re Affordable
It’s not a secret that a great burger is satisfying and delicious. However, while we are willing to pay a little more for a burger with some extras, by and large they are affordable – on the low end burgers can range from $0.75 to $10.00.
Often when someone has been deprived of comfort food for a while due to a diet, surgery, being out of the country, and so forth the first thing they say they want is a big, juicy burger – just ask any Survivor contestant… lol.
I know for sure after I gave birth to each of my 4 kids I wanted a burger! A good burger is packed with flavor and still within your budget, in my book.
You Can Get Them Anywhere
In the states you pretty much can’t throw a stick without hitting a place that serves burgers. You can find them in convenience stores, a drive up burger stand, sit down restaurant, you can even find them at the grocery store.
Burgers are so popular, it’s not often that you sit down or drive up and not see a burger of some sort on a menu, and often as a lower priced menu item. I guess you can call a burger comfort food.
