If you’re looking for a guaranteed crowd pleaser or a smooth cheese dip that’s as good as at your favorite Mexican restaurant, you’re at the right place!
The best part about this cheesy dip and the best queso recipe you’ll find (according to my kids) is there won’t be any leftover queso to worry about since it’s such a huge hit making it the perfect dip.
Slow Cooker Game Day Queso
So, the Big Game is coming up very soon now! Everyone has their favorite Game Day recipes and family favorite foods! Well, what my family and friends request is what we call Queso. I usually make 2 large slow cookers full and they eat it up!
For about 20 years Aarn and I were Youth Pastors we loved it, we loved having them fill every area of our lives! Teens will do that if you let them! We never were without a car full everywhere we went, or a living room floor full of sleeping kids most mornings!
We enjoyed their company and we laughed – a lot! I never thought much of my homemade Queso recipe until the kids started asking me to make it whenever they wanted to watch a game. I was surprised at how much they loved it. They would eat bowls full and eat every drop I made!
Maybe your crew will enjoy this creamy queso and great appetizer too! It is super easy and super tasty with tons of flavor! Two things I look for in most recipes – in that order! 😉
You’ll likely find many variations as we have met people who have added their own spin to it over the years – my kids like the one I make. One variation involved black olives at a friend’s house one day – they were so excited to share it with us – it was a sad day for my kids… lol

So, I thought I would share my recipe with you. I know many people make this with many variations – I like mine plain and simple:
Ingredient list:
1 – Velveeta
2 – Cream Cheese
1 can of Rotel – (I can’t take spicy so I use Mild and I drain the liquid, because it’s what makes it spicy)
1-2 lbs Ground Beef
Serves around 5-6
For the original recipe we use 2 Velveeta, 4 cream cheese, 2 Rotel and 5 lbs hamburger and that makes 2 large slow cookers full!
Full Instructions:
Melt the Velveeta in the slow cooker on low heat or low setting – make sure not to burn it.
Add the cream cheese and melt it in and stir it in the Velveeta cheese product
Add Rotel to the melty cheese and mix well
Brown hamburger and drain and add to the cheese mixture.
Serve smooth queso warm with tortilla chips!
