If you're looking for a way to freshen up a few rooms while not breaking the bank, then these ideas for redecorating your home are just what you're looking for. Click through to check them out now...

Inexpensive Ways to Renovate Your Living Areas

Now that it’s the new year, it’s time to give your home a face lift. Redecorate your home or move your furniture around to give rooms a fresh new look.

No one wants to live in a house they don’t love or one that looks the same forever. But we also don’t want to hire an interior design firm to refurbish our old look, either.

Change is good. But, to fix up a room, or rearrange furniture, maybe even recovering a piece or two doesn’t have to break the bank especially if you take the added step of setting up a free budget template to help manage the finances.

To give your room an exciting new look, here are some simple tricks to refresh your space without spending a lot of money.

Layer Some Rugs

Maybe your floors look aged, or your carpet looks worn, this is a great opportunity for your to purchase some inexpensive throw rugs and place them strategically. It can mean an entire new look for the room.

Layering your rugs can control and hide old floors. It can also give your floor area a hip new look.

Check out these fun rugs:

Sable Faux Fur

Woven Rugs

Try layering faux and woven rugs from Jane. You can buy rugs from Walmart or try Ikea.

Adorn The Walls

Adding some wallpaper with pretty patterns can give any room its own character and renew its look in no time.

Nowadays, there are a lot of different types of wallpapers with fun patterns. You can shop stores and find something that suits your style.

If wallpaper is out of your budget, try adorning the walls with framed anything: It can be photos from your last reunion or your family photos. Buy some pretty postcards from Michaels.

You can also print photos in black and white or sepia then frame them. Hang these pictures randomly on any wall to revamp a room.

Add Some Pillows

A bright pillow (or two!) can give a bland room a much needed pop of color and restore its luster.

Choose pillows that are bold in shape: Big square throws can easily add visual variety to a bedroom or living room.

Upgrade The Lighting

A standard frosted shade may look generic and out of style. Swap it for a more decorative covering or if you have a little extra on the side, use an eclectic combination of table and floor lamps for a nice room redo.

When choosing lamps, choose ones that not only decorate the space but also improve the lighting in your room. The right lamp should make a better atmosphere and make the area look warmer.

Switch The Curtains

Curtains are something a lot of people easily overlook. But did you know that changing your curtains can easily add character to a room when you think about a refurnish?

Curtains will not only keep neighborly eyes out, they also help frame the room.

When choosing curtains, get softer colors. Opaque grey looks great during summer.

Here’s another tip: If you raise the curtains higher than your actual windows, it will make the ceiling look taller!

Install Tall Mirrors

Having large mirrors in a room can make a renovation pop. Not only are mirrors great wall decorations, they also reflect a lot of light, making the area look bigger than it actually is.

When installing mirrors, choose mirrors with interesting frames that can add personal touches to your remodel.

Bring Life To Your Home

Fresh plants and flowers can bring life to your home. You can add them to your kitchen or fill empty spaces in your newly renovated areas.

Plants and flowers are also affordable ways to integrate nature, especially if you lack a front garden or a backyard.

Hang Your DIY Art

Having art pieces can be really expensive, but that shouldn’t stop you from hanging art around your house.

You can make your own using canvas, paint, and brushes! Or if you think you’re not artistic enough, you can also purchase ready made pieces to spice up your walls.

Everyday Farmhouse Prints

Modern Farmhouse Art

Doing a home makeover doesn’t mean that it has to be expensive. Adding key pieces around your house can spice up any room, without spending a lot.

Have you ever decorated your home for the new year? What’s your favorite room or pieces to restore?
