It’s important to note though that these grab bags are filled with items that usually cost well over the price you’ll pay for them.  So it’s really a big score when you get your hands on one of these bags.

That’s the thing… you never know what’s inside one of these bags.  All you know is that they are filled with items that Michaels typically sells in their store and they can contain holiday or seasonal items, too.  

Having said that, you can get an idea of what might be in these bags. Then when you go back you can maybe tell by the shape of the bag or jiggling it if the items you’re looking for are included.

Generally some or most of what didn’t get sold in clearance goes into these bags. So, if you see something in their clearance you might like and it’s close to Monday or Tuesday – you might want to gamble and wait to see if it ends up in a grab bag.

When Does Michaels Put These Grab Bags Out?

When does Michaels have grab bags is a question I hear a lot. They usually put them out on Mondays or Tuesdays. You can either check your store on Monday or Tuesday mornings or ask a cashier when they typically put them out.

Another hint is if you keep an eye on the clearance in the store and it goes down to 80% or more and then you notice one day that the clearance seems like it’s been cleared out. That’s a pretty good indication that the next morning you’ll find grab bags in your store.

You’ll generally want to hit the store early on those days to be able to get first pick!

How Can I Get A Michaels Grab Bag? 

Unfortunately, Michaels doesn’t heavily promote this so it’s easy not to know when one is happening.  If you’re interested, you can call your local Michaels store and ask when they will be offering Grab Bags again.  They will usually let you know of any upcoming events so you don’t miss out.
