My granddaughter, a pre-teen, was ready for a room makeover and she had some cute ideas she wanted to share. This makeover cost less than $50 for everything, I say that, but, I will also tell you that my daughter actually made money on the deal!
She was able to sell her daughter’s headboard and frame for $150, so she actually MADE money on this makeover!

Pre-Teen Room Makeover Under $50
She decided she liked a softer chevron pattern for her comforter and wanted to carry that through the room a bit.
My daughter was able to find her a dresser on the OfferUp app:
She added hardware and repainted the dresser & hardware to match her colors:
She had this cute wall hanging that would no longer match her room, but she had a great idea!
They headed to the store and found a great deal on contact paper to cover the wall hanging! They found this great chevron pattern that matches her comforter well! It was just $3!
They covered the wall hanging and made it in to a memory board! So cute!
She also wanted to replace her headboard with hanging lights, that was easy – they had some around the house they weren’t using!
She took a box and covered it in cute wrapping paper to hold her nail polishes and a picked out jar for her cotton balls.
2 Candy jars for hair bands and clips
Then she picked out 2 plates and a candle stick, glued them together for odds and ends.
All from the dollar store! All in all it was under $50!
