When I was a kid, I remember when my mom bought our first VCR. This was a HUGE deal because it meant that every weekend we could go down to the movie rental store and we could each get a movie. In fact we still make fun of my little brother because for some reason he would always rent Care Bear movies.

So he would rent those unwatchable Care Bear episodes and the middle brother would rent poorly dubbed Kung-Fu movies, that would leave me to rent Marvel cartoons. Now these were some of the most terribly animated cartoons you have ever seen but I rented every one of them. In fact the theme song for the Captain America episodes is permanently etched into my brain.

"When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.

Ah yes, childhood. Here’s one of the episodes so you can see what I’m talking about. I’m pretty sure they just cut the comic book drawings out and moved them around and called it a day.
