Saving on home improvements can be done easily if you know what to look for

11 Ways To Save Money At Lowe’s Home Improvement

If you’re looking for more affordable supplies and products for your DIY projects, Lowe’s can be your best friend. Lowe’s is a Mecca for homeowners, renters, and DIYers. If you’re looking for the tools and supplies for home improvement projects, this is the place to go.

Lowe’s has a wide range of garden equipment, appliances, wood, paint, and everything you need to renovate and improve your home and living space.

If you think that transforming your house (or a part of it) into the home of your dreams, has to cost a fortune, it doesn’t! There are plenty of ways you can save money every time you have home improvement needs or DIY projects with Lowe’s.

Here are 7 ways to save money at Lowe’s home improvement.

1. Discounted Gift Cards

Know how to save extra money on every purchase you make?

Use discounted gift cards! You can buy them from legitimate sites like Gift Card Granny.

Yes, you can use competitor coupons when you shop at Lowe’s. However, instead of waiting for an approval by the store manager to use your competitor coupon, you can get up to 10 percent savings, without the manager’s approval, if you use a discounted Lowe’s gift card!

2. Rebates

Are you planning to buy a large or a higher priced item?

The best way to save big on these items is redeeming mail in rebates.

Many big-ticket items qualify for manufacturer rebates, but there are also those that come with tax credits and utility rebates. You can get every cent that you’re entitled to by checking Lowe’s Rebate Center.

You can also get more rebates from the items you’re purchasing online by using cash back shopping sites. There are several that you can use, but the trusted and true Rakuten and Mr. Rebates have been around for many years and are the easiest to use.

Make sure you use them before you do any online shopping!

3. Advantage Credit Card

If you’re a Lowe’s Advantage Credit Card holder, you can save 5% off everyday purchases.

Also if you buy something over $299, you’re eligible for six months of no-interest financing.

Here’s even better news: Sign up for a new Lowe’s charge card and get 10% off your first purchase!

Kohl’s is a great place to shop fand save on your home improvement projects.

4. Clearance Racks

Did you know that you can haggle on floor models in the clearance aisle of a Lowe’s store?

The employees can approve larger discounts on floor models, so don’t be afraid to negotiate!

There are also two ways you can find things on clearance:

  • You can go to Lowe’s Clearance Center online and enter your zip code to see what’s new in your local store.
  • Visit BrickSeek and enter the product code of the item you’re looking for. The site will tell you how many items there are in the store and the price.

5. Best Time To Shop

Lowe’s stores have major sales on major holidays, such as: Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, and Christmas. But did you know that they also have a big sale in late March or early April that they call Spring Black Friday?

If you can plan your purchases and wait for those special sales, you can find some great deals. If you’re looking to buy furniture, a set of tools, or a big appliance, this is the best time to shop.

6. Military Discounts

If you are active military personnel or a veteran who receives VA benefits, you can get military discounts from Lowe’s

You qualify for the Lowe’s everyday military discount, as long as you fulfill the following requirements:

  • You must be currently serving in; or
  • You are retired from a branch of the military with a valid military ID.

7. Damaged Or Used Goods

Another way to put your haggling skills to good use is by asking for lower prices for items that are slightly damaged or used.

Lowe’s will often discount paint that a customer returned or scraps of wood that are left over from cutting another order. If the handle is broken, you can also ask for more savings!

8. Garden Club

Joining the Lowe’s Garden Club entitles you to exclusive offers and savings.

Once you’re a part of the group, you will receive emails containing gardening tips and advice plus members-only offers and promotions. These newsletters often come packed with coupons like buy-one-get-one deals or other goodies.

9. Plant Guarantee

Are you aware of Lowe’s one year plant guarantee?

You can get a replacement for a tree, shrub, or perennial that did not make it through the year. Just bring the plant and the receipt to your local store for an exchange.

10. Price Match

Your local Lowe’s store will not only guarantee a price guarantee, you can even price match Amazon.com, as long as the items are sold by Amazon.com, and not by a third-party seller.

If you find an identical item sold on Amazon for a cheaper price, just print out the product page then take it to your local Lowe’s store and speak to the Customer Service team.

If you find a lower price on an identical item at a local or online retail competitor (including shipping and handling fees), just bring us the competitor’s current ad or show a printout, photo, smartphone display or app, and we’ll match their price.

Our price match policy doesn’t apply to certain brands; installation labor; closeout, discontinued, clearance, refurbished, used or damaged items; credit/finance terms.

Lowe’s will not match delivery fees on items purchased at any local competitor’s store or store’s website.

Limited to reasonable quantities.

Can’t be combined with other discounts.

Additional restrictions apply. See a sales associate or below for details.
