Earning Without Scanning Receipts
As mentioned above, you typically need to provide Ibotta with proof of purchase before you can redeem your cash in the form of a receipt. This is particularly necessary if you shop at physical retail stores. Apart from this method, however, you can also prove that you’ve purchased an item using two other methods.
The first one is to link your store loyalty cards in the app. This automatically confirms which items you’ve purchased. However, this option only works with selected retailers and not with all of them.
The second method involves using the app to make purchases or buying something from one of their mobile retailers. More often than not, you won’t have to do anything else to get rewarded for these purchases since the app will track them for you.

Another way to save money through the app is to access the “Bonuses” section from the Main Menu. The more active you are with Ibotta, the more bonuses will be available to you. All you need to do is tap on a specific bonus to reveal the details on how you can earn it. Once you complete a bonus, you will get the chance to unlock other bonuses.
Finally, you can also earn extra cash through their referral program. Simply send your friends a referral link. Once they register through this link, you will then earn $5 for each friend who joins. Additionally, you can earn bonus promotions if a specific number of your friends join the app.
