The oldest children’s theater in Dallas, Junior Players will perform a rendition of the iconic Act V Scene I, also known as the “Play Within the Play” and two short dances from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Dallas Arboretum‘s Rosine Hall on Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The play is free for all paid garden guests.

Junior Players was founded in 1955 and for sixty years has striven to meet the changing needs of the community. Since 1989, Junior Players has provided free programming accessible to all the children in North Texas. Junior Players exclusively provides free arts education programs in local recreation and cultural centers, housing projects, elementary and middle schools and through social service agencies serving youth at risk.

To close out the summer season, Junior Players presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Bollywood Spectacular in collaboration with Shakespeare Dallas. This production will feature 23 of North Texas’ most talented high school students from 14 different high schools. To learn more about this performance, visit www.juniorplayers.org.

Bill Graue, Dallas Arboretum’s chairman, said, “We are excited to have Junior Players at the Arboretum to perform a part of their summer show and rendition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We encourage people to come enjoy the beautiful garden, and then stop in for a cool break in the air conditioned Rosine Hall to see the show.”
