Summer is the perfect time to get outside and have fun, and with so many activities to choose from, you’ll never be bored. But whether you decide to go swimming or take a hike, be sure to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen. The last thing you want is a heat stroke or a nasty burn.

If you can’t decide what to do this summer, an activity that’s fun for the whole family is a picnic. You can even make an entire day out of it. Chances are you live near a park, I find this one of the best places to have a picnic.

Most even have tables and grills for you. And with it being at a park, your kids will never get bored. When I was younger, I loved going to the park, especially if they had nature trails, which meant I could ride my bike while getting a chance to see the scenery.

Of course, there are other places you can have picnics. Many arboretums have places you can sit down or lay out a blanket. If you bring a cooler, you could even leave your food in the car and walk around, enjoying the view until you get hungry. Our local zoo has a park right next door making that a perfect break or end of the zoo day.

Plates/Cutlery

For plates and cutlery, you can go the disposable route, but the cost can add up over time, plus it’s harmful to the environment.
