What many people don’t know about me is I never used to shop at Aldi. But one day on a walk, I happened upon one I apparently lived shockingly close to an Aldi and didn’t know.
I needed a few things, so I went in, and guess what I ended up with way more, making walking home a huge pain, but I couldn’t help it. There were so many deals at every corner. Since then, I’ve gotten better at learning how to shop and save at Aldi, aka my new favorite store!
How To Shop And Save Even More At Aldi Grocery Store
So here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks!
Have everything you need
Before you go shopping in any store, not just Aldi, the most important thing to do is to be prepared. Make sure you have your shopping list, so you don’t end up like me my first time and buy many things you don’t need.
Next, you need shopping bags or boxes they do have ones you can buy the paper sacks are about $0.07 cents, plastic runs about $0.10 cents, and cloth bags run around $1.99. That may not seem like a lot, but it adds up quickly.
Last but not least, bring a quarter you need one to unlock your cart to use it. But don’t worry, you will get your quarter back when you return your cart.
Refunds
Aldi has a police call the Twice as Nice Guarantee. This police states: ‘If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with the quality of any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money. The Twice As Nice Guarantee does not apply to non-food ALDI Finds items, alcohol national brands, and non-quality related issues”.
To receive the Twice as Nice Guarantee, you need your receipt and return the packaging. And any unused product to your local ALDI store manager.

Check out their website
It’s always a good idea to look at the store’s website you want to shop at before you start your shopping trip. You never know what you’ll find. On the Aldi site, you can check out their weekly Aldi flyer and Aldi Finds.
I get into more detail about them below; you can also see what products they sell. This will be of help when making your grocery list.
Speaking of making things easier on their site, they have a whole recipe section. The ingredient list specifies what grocery items you need to buy, even down to the brand. These recipes make planning your meals so much easier. Not only does this save you time, but it also saves you money.
Weekly ads/Aldi finds
You can pick up an ad at your local Aldi store, but if you want to take a look before heading out, Aldi has its ad available on its website or in the app. And it’s super easy to access; all you have to do is select your store to find your ad to check out all those good deals.
But don’t forget to check out their Aldi Finds, sometimes called a Special Buy. This is a product only sold for a short time at Aldi. This means you can only get these great deals for a limited time, so when they come out, you better hurry.
Sneak peek
Aldi sneak peeks are the best way to check out the Special Buys a week ahead of time, so you have time to plan your next trip. You can find the Sneak Peeks in the weekly ad online or in the app.
Aldi App
I mentioned a few times above about the Aldi app, so I’m here now to tell you all about its features. You can access everything the website can, from the weekly ad to the Aldi Finds, even the recipes, but this way is more accessible. You can also set reminders for the Sneak Peek items when they are available. This feature is a great way not to miss out on the sale.
Earn Rewards
There are plenty of apps out there you can download that will save you a ton of money and earn you rewards. Using these money-saving apps on top of store sales can even double your savings or rewards. Doesn’t that sound great!

Store Brands
It’s always a good idea to shop store brand instead of name brand, but that doesn’t always guarantee the best quality. But the good news is that’s not the case with Aldi. Their brands taste just like the real thing. This is great since most of what they sell is store brand. You won’t even miss the original brand.
Organic/Gluten-Free Products
Many stores sell organic and gluten-free options, but not like Aldi does. Aldi has choices in their store brand instead of name brand like most grocery stores do. This way, you pay less.
Their gluten-free brand is called liveGfree, and their organic brand is simply nature. They even have a plant-based brand called earth grown. I love their chocolate vegan ice cream not only for the taste but also for how cheap it was.
Discount Bakery
Did you know that Aldi will discount their bakery items 50% 2 Days Before They Expire? When I found this out, it was a game-changer.
Since most big chain stores don’t do this, Aldi has become my go-to place for baked goods. If you find something you love not marked down, check when it expires. If it expires in 3 days, come back the next day to get it 50% off.
Dairy
You have to check out their dairy section. Everything from eggs to milk, even sour cream, is shockingly so much cheaper than most stores. Stop by the dairy department if you’re looking to save a ton ( I mean, who isn’t).
Delivery
Save your time and gas money by choosing delivery. This option is available through the Aldi app and website. It’s super simple—all you have to do is select delivery on your device and select the groceries you want. Delivery fees may vary based on the time requested for delivery and the size of the order.
